    An easy and in fact, the most accurate test you can do to determine if you have a water/drainage issue is to dig a hole. A post hole digger is the easiest but a shovel will work just fine. Go 18" to 24" down. What do you see? Is the dirt stagnant and wet or crumbly and dry? Cover the hole...
