    I was thinking more about this. If I was tasked with this job I would switch to a lightweight and fine-toothed saw blade. They are a fraction of the weight and far easier to maneuver than a pruner and will work just as well at removing small tips. You will not get as perfect of a cut but so what?

    I still have a problem with the fact that carbon fiber is such a good conductor of electricity. It seems a strong limiting factor when compared to KV rated fiberglass.

    The blue poles are more than strong enough to support the pruning head. This time of year mine get used a lot, fruit tree time. My yellow poles are left hanging in the shop.

    I'm not sure. Wood poles seem to be variable in weight and it has been a while since I had any but the B-lite feel noticeably light when you pick one up.

    Not at all. Lighter and stiffer than the yellow poles. I will use three 6' poles on a regular basis and the most flex comes from the connectors like Deva said. With just one or two poles they feel as light as a feather and are a joy to use. Much better than the big Silky's.

    I have not used the Abormax poles but I have used the Jameson B-lite poles and they are good. Almost as light, are 100kv rated and cheaper.

    As I have gotten older and more careful, it seems all my tools last longer than they used to. Like you, I have some very old fiberglass and wooden poles that have the aluminum button type connectors that are still working fine. Breaking a 400 dollar poll would be seriously cringe worthy.

    They look appropriate to me. The aluminum furls on most fiberglass poles is just too soft and thin to withstand elongation with field use and abuse. If the sleeved-tubes have a tight fit, the connection should be much stronger than its aluminum counter part. Having a feather weight and stiff...
