No, Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. 1.3 million acres of wild and rugged country.

Some years they do, Cory, but what is better than that is that to the west of them, a massive wilderness. If you fly over them and you can see thousands of miles of beautiful, rugged wilderness.

LOL, asks Mr. Invisible! I have posted as much as I'm comfortable with in the past. I do confess to being a bit of a hermit and not liking to be in pictures. On top of that, though I'm still working, I'm old and worn out, not a lot of exciting jobs that would be picture worthy. I did run up...

I just picked up a Rock Exotica Akimbo. Nothing wrong with my GoFundMe Akimbo but I do still need tax write-offs, and besides, it's shiny. Though I have not yet had a chance to use it, my first impression is that it is much more refined. It is lighter, 9.2oz. as opposed to 11oz. That may not...

I run mine with the bottom set 2 holes less friction than the top arm but it will vary. I also do not set the top cam so loose that it is wholly dependent on the spring action to make it work. The Akimbo is so quick and easy to change friction settings, don't waist your time climbing on it if...

I don't doubt you, Rich, but that doesn't make it less perplexing. I also get paid for climbing and have my choice of the best tools currently available. Even though the Akimbo it not in production yet, the one I have works better than all the other tools I have used with the exception of the...

I seriously doubt it, Rich. The spring is there only to ensure the cam engages. It does not control the friction like the main settings do. What rope are you using?

I would also be willing to pay for an upgraded spring, Jaime.

Last I heard they are hoping to have it ready by EXPO. Yes, that is exactly what they said last year at about this time.:|:

I agree with both of you. I am happy to have one of the original go fund me Akimbos. Sylvia said they were still needing to get it certified and needed to make a few other changes like using rivets instead of bolts. That all sounds like more time than "soon" to me, hope I'm wrong though.

Sylvia is presenting at TCIA expo and I had her swing by the Rock Exotica booth. They still will not give a firm release date, just that it will be soon.

Like I said, there will not be one perfect climbing tool for all climbers. Saddles, boots, ropes and saws, same thing. It does sound like the Akimbo is ill-suited to your needs, but as with the aforementioned items, it does not reflect a lack of quality or design deficiency. With that...

I guess there never will be a "best for everyone" climbing tool. We are all too different. When Paul first let me try the Hitch Hiker, I was blown away by how well it worked and how easy it was to use and adjust. Once it became available on the open market, I couldn't believe that everyone...

Yeah, you gotta watch that hot and dehydrated stuff. It must have been your condition because no friction device i have used is faster or easier to adjust. That is not saying that you will be able to find the sweet spot quickly, just that it is easy to make adjustments. Mine runs smooth as...
