I used Shoo Goo to glue the battery bracket onto the back of my Kask and the supplied Velcro to attach the R unit just below it. Works great and has held fast for several years.

OK, I'm guessing that you've never used ear buds with a phone? The speaker and the mic are combined. The mic picks up your voice from your ear canal.

Did you read what I said? You don't talk into a phone, you have ear buds in your ear covered by your ear protectors. No need to hold you phone, cause it is in your pocket and the mic is in the ear bud protected from the external noises.

For part time use a phone will work fine. Just put your ear buds in under your ear protectors. No mic needed.

I use a screen on my Kask and like it much better than the visor. I do wear safety glasses all the time and this makes a big difference as I only lower the screen during cutting operations. I find that safety glasses, because they are closer to your face, do not affect clarity of vision as...

I did mine the same way with the addition of filing a small groove for the wire, setting the wire in it and taping it in place. I figured that reassessing the wire and covering it with tape will give it some abrasion protection. For mounting the remote mic I first covered the mounting surface...

This would not only work well for the crane operator but it might work for some of the other crews' members. The SPH10 can be used with or without a helmet. With a ball cap they are comfortable and work great. Under a helmet they are less comfortable but they do work and would be less of a...

No. The battery as I have it mounted on the Kask is on the outside of the head band in a space below the crushable foam and above the lower rim. It will not interfere with the impact absorbing system of the foam and is still protected by the lower rim of the hard shell. It is small and flat...

Paul is right. The SMH10R has a separate remote battery. I can't say how they compare to the ones that Paul sells as I have not used those, but I do like mine. The main unit is real small and is mounted on the back of the helmet. The battery is mounted on the front of the brow band ( it is...

These are the units you want to look for. They are available online through most motorcycle parts and supply stores. I chose the SMH10R for our helmets due to its smaller size but it does have a smaller battery so less talk time. However, it seems to be good enough to last all day...

Just a tip on hearing and talking over chippers and saws. The mikes are super directional, so when things are noisy make sure the opening is pointed directly at your mouth and almost touching your lips. You are right in thinking that some of us use these on all jobs. I work with my wife and...

You are going to love the quality of Sena. I will not work without having these incredible, hands free and wireless communication systems.

Paul, what can I say, I'm here for you. :) The new R models are electronically the same, with the same speakers and mics, they just separated the battery to make the main unit smaller. Bumping the control buttons is something that just happens, even on our little over the ear models. It is not...

Hi, Evan. I have been using a different model of the Sena line, the SPH10, than the ones Paul is talking about helmet mounting. We have been very pleased with these small, lightweight units as the communications are full duplex and crystal clear. They are not in earmuffs so it is necessary to...

That is a great idea, Paul! The new, more compact Sena SMH10R is now available and are getting good reviews. http://www.senabluetooth.com/products/smh10r.php?tab_menu=overview Dave
