Yesterday during muzzleloader season my bro was after the wide 6 or better he said. Setting in the shooting house on top of the hill flat over on his place. All our lands border each other.
Well the wide 6 didnt show but this guy with 1 broken off tine did.
FUNNY part is it ran into a tree after...
Dad took a rough green score of his deer for this year. 178 gross and he said very lenient as not to over measure any. 6" base and just under on other base.
I got the score sheet on pdf. Just need to save and print it out to compare to the buck in velvet on the wall.
If I remember it being...
Taken Dec 27th 5:05pm by my 76 year old dad, 125gr Muzzy broadhead and off my land where I had took 2 earlier in gun. He used a climber 20yds down from my stand to cut him off. It worked. :D
This deer is getting loins cut for loin steaks for later and tender loins getting ready for supper...
Was great hearing the story of the hunt go down last night. 76 years old and we figure the buck is min 6.5years old and could be 7.5years old.
The 15th point that is broken off from past pics is one of the split brow times.
Dad has been hunting him 4-5 years and has 3 sets of sheds from him...
Dad got the biggun off my property tonight. 14 points and 15 was broken off. 76 years old and still using a climbing stand. He cut him off 20yds from my ladder stand I hunt.
Oh update, the 1st doe that went where I couldnt track has been on cam twice now. She made it with a groove of hair missing on her back at the front shoulders. Glad she lived and didnt got to waste.
Lesson learned wearing gloves and the first shot of the year. :(
LOL dad said they had a pig on one of the cams. Just wow here they come.
Seems we see one from time to time. So that is 2 now in 20+ years
We see it it will be a dead pig for the smoker.
Hunted bear in MT back in 83-84 by stalking, suppose to be spot and stalk. Never saw one hunting though. But seen plenty of evidence they were in area.
Then be driving and look down by a stream or side of a hill on roadside and there they would be. Oh well just glad I never seen one hunting I...
Got to check your laws on using them. Some states consider it baiting.
You know how we use to figure out the deers patterns going to feeding and bedding areas. Well now we have added a feeding area so it is easier to pattern them coming in to feed.
Plus we have been using trace mineral...
Should have had another double doe opening day gun season morning again. Except I fubbared the 1st one of the morning and it went to a place I dont have permission to track game into.
So took 1 doe later morning.
Then a young buck on day 3 evening.
So 1 tag left for later.
I'm a meat hunter...
@Limbrat Reminds me of a doe that got used to coming off the hill at dads place to eat out of his hand.
Somebody shot her across the road on the other hill and left her laying or didnt find her. Dad had come across her and new it was the doe.
Just like the doe I shot last year on day 1 of...
A few I been watching grow.
About 8 different 8 bucks on pics so far. Even the new fawns finally showed up.
2 of the bigger ones with basic 8 racks. Cam A time and date off. Have 10 pt running around but smaller. We call it sgt, been he has a 3 stripe scar it appears on his left shoulder.
Had about 300 pics last night this morning.
Here is one from earlier in week of 10 seen in pic. Just does and the yearlings. Heck I cant tell which one by thumbnail pics.
One showing the buck antler growth.
Watching them from beginning is cool. Have pics from when they were just dropped...
Hadnt seen fox around my place since 1996. Reason coyotes.
Got a surprise this week. Looks like a red fox to me. 8) Something behind it in the field still too.
