    I would think cutting up north in minus degrees compared to winter in Miss would be a little different. There has to be some reason them having winter filters. I run the same filter year round also, unless for some reason I have a mesh one for that saw I am running that day and it is cold...

    That would be for a expert to answer, but my huskys have 2 filters too. One mesh like that green stihl HD for winter and flocked one for other times that catches the fine stuff. If I run my winter filter on the husky it will let dust through just like the green 1653 stihl one in good weather...

    That green mesh filter is for winter use only supposedly. It is just a mesh screen and will let dust threw like you see. Use the HD filter I listed in my post, it comes with a pre-filter and then filter of a different type for catching small dust. Holy cow no wonder you folks are having...

    I like the new stihl HD filters now days with part number 0000-120-1654. The older ones that was on my 084's etc sucked. I run the new ones on my 066 and 084's. Here is a woods ported 066 with no piston work etc, just good Ole cylinder porting. Works with a 16" - 32" but mostly with the 25"...
