Lilly has been picking them here Paul.. About a small bowl a day. More coming though.. I think she eats hand fulls on her way back to the house  Pink lips are a sure give away...
We have started eating lettuce from the garden this last week. :)
About 5-7 lbs harvested thus far. I just keep making ranch and blue cheese. Made some grilled chicken marinated in balsamic vinaigrette to put on it the other night. YUMMY!:rockhard:
Cloves from the store worked fine. We are trying the buffalo garlic as well this year. Just plant each individual clove. We are year round for the most part with garlic. Heck, it even snowed on the tops and bent them over. Snow melted and the garlic was fine..
Rob put some in last year and this year. The fresh garlic was nice to have about. I use tons cooking. We sat the whole family down and shucked garlic at the dinner table on night. I chopped it in the Robocoup (food processor) and used it up in no time. Some of the smaller garlic I just saved...
If you blanch them and then shock them in ice water prior to freezing, they keep a nice texture when you cook them and better flavor. More nutrients are left in them as well.
Have to be careful canning green beans as botulism is a scarey thing.
We did like Stig did, Fence post stakes. We did use one side one the garden fence wired it to it I believe. We are still eating green beans from last year. I don't remember how many pounds we got. But they got blanched, shocked and frozen. Yummy.
Here are a couple shots of it.
Nah, it already rusty cause we used the stuff for concrete, and you only need to flame the plants. Does not take much. Just direct the heat (not touch with the actual flame) until they catch. They don't burn hot.
Just a note Scott. The trellis idea works great for green beans. That's how we do it in our garden and harvesting is easy peasy. When they die, just use a weed burner to clean the trellis :D
Came out nice Scott. I have only been able to bring home smaller poles for ours. Not much enough to quarter. Those came out nice with the corners and such. Cut some red worms loose in the organics you put in those beds and they help bunches.
