    That puts them middle of the food chain, Stephen...and we know that it's about 10,000 to 1 prey taken by an individual animal at any particular level than by the next level above. I think the planet's native populations of little critters would be way better off if domestic cats were extinct...

    Domestic cats...like barrel bombs on the small wildlife populations. Sure, if they keep mice out of your house, that's a good thing. But they don't discriminate...they kill untold numbers of songbirds every year as well.
