Fold it up opposite to the way it wants to on it's own. You can retrain it, to a fair degree.
Most cubes will acquire this inclination, with some age.
Old climbers do, too :D.
For me it has always been more about deploying tangle free. The ease, and yes to some degree the speed are side benefits, but not the focus.
Again, with longer lines, tangles are more of a problem to rectify...and thus more time consuming. That speed thing again? :D
Just because one flakes instead of coils does not mean that one is doing it only for speed. It's just easier, and the line deploys free from snaggles. It also does not mean that you are not inspecting the rope as you flake it.
