I appreciate the friction hitch rope on rope appeal of the HH as much as anyone, me being at bottom line a very old school climber...but I have to say, this Akimbo of Jaime's is pretty much top of the charts for function, full mechanical or mixed type. Though neither of them work worth a toot...

I'm sure that my HH1 is some tiny bit less magic than the HH2...but not near enough less to justify tossing the 1 and buying the 2. IMO, the only real advantage of the 2 over the 1 is some measure of better compactness.

I'd certainly want to acquire your tending pulley when you have it refined to your taste. I think I climb little enough now in retirement that the original HH will serve my needs adequately 'til I'm ground bound :). Let me know how that pulley comes along, eh?

So are the slack tending pulleys you're working on going to be an option, rather than a part of the HH2? And might we be so fortunate that you'd be able to put one out that could function with either unit?
