Airtight is almost impossible to achieve, Butch....short of vacuum sealing.

    Butter question!

Smart Balance?? That's no more butter than turtle poop is, Carl :D. That's one of the obvious problems with this whole thread...seems to me that a whole bunch of y'all have no idea what is and what is not butter.

    Butter question!

Actually, in our house that's the preference. Sodium is worse for us that a little real butter. You can always add a little sea salt at the table, or in the cooking, if you feel the need. Sweet butter has WAY better flavor than salted, imo. Tillamook is #1, but Land 'o Lakes is no slouch...

    Butter question!

I was going to say the same, but then realized I have no idea how the costs compare in Butch's area. Here, it's just as you say Ed, though we have pretty cheap electric rates compared to many places.

    Butter question!

My gas range top boils water in a copper kettle just fine...I can wait 3 minutes. We reheat things in either a double boiler, a rice steamer, or the oven...I can wait 10 minutes. I'm not against them, they just don't fit into my lifestyle. There is nothing you can do in your kitchen with the...

    Butter question!

We raised ducks for years, ate the eggs regularly. I agree with Al, very good eggs. We had Roens...domestic mallard. Nothing really wrong with a microwave oven, Butch. We just don't see the need for one in our home. We didn't put an automatic dishwasher in the house when we built, either...

    Butter question!

I'm told about 5 seconds in a microwave oven makes a stick of refrigerated butter spreadable...don't know from personal experience as we don't have one.
