    Moles!

I so very seldom see a mole above ground as to make any plan on shooting at them with a varmint gun worthless here. I know one neighbor who likes to sit in a lawn chair with a cooler full of beer in the middle of his yard with a shotgun at hand, just bird shot, like 8's. He sees a hill move...

    Moles!

Thanks much, Bob. I'd have to cover a trap some way, to keep pupdog Jasper from messing with it. I'm thinking I'm going to try the Trapline Gophenator trap, seems less likely to hang up the jaws in soil/stones/roots, and is much smaller. Down side is it only kills from one travel direction...

Could you post a pic of the Victor, and describe how you go about picking the place to set it and how you go about that?

    Moles!

That's great! I have plenty of those around too, but mice are a constant low-grade problem for getting into my sheds/workshop, and especially vehicles. The house is pretty mouse proofed, took extra care during construction and after to seal it as tight as possible.

Butch, are you serious? Never had a mouse in your kitchen make a huge mess in the pantry closet? Never had a mouse get in a clothes drawer and make nests out of your favorite T shirt? Never heard of hantavirus?

    Moles!

Pocket gophers and moles are different critters...different tunnelling habits, food sources, biology in general. What works for contol of one doesn't neccessarily translate to the other. Plus the moles Brian is dealin with in FL are no doubt a diff species than those turning my yard and fields...

Have you tried traps, Brian? I googled up some pretty good info on a variety of them, but it seems like a difficult critter to catch, and you have to dilegently go about it forever.
