Maybe if it hasn't been opened. You can always call petzl and tell then it's garbage and you won't climb on it and make them give you a refund. Sorry to steer you wrong, I was in love with the thing until today. Doesn't help that I noticed the crack 50 ft up a Tulip Poplar.

I take back everything I said about the Zigzag. I found a crack in mine this morning while in a tree. I did nothing to abuse it, was always easy on it and never side loaded it that I know of. If you bought one, return it.

I like srt for getting in the tree, and DRT for working in it. Not much different than tending to a Blake's hitch, you have to constantly check to make sure it's dressed and set properly. The zz, just make sure it's not twisted. I have no fear of the zz letting go. They only start to twist when...

I use the second gen zz and I love it. I suspect the issues are from Letting the ropes twist then putting load on it. There were a couple times I could see it starting to twist and side load.

I got the new ZZ. Love it. Works great with Blue Moon line. Gotta be careful what knots you use on the working end though. I usually use an anchor hitch for termination, but it likes to grab the links on the hitch and drop ya a foot or two. Enough for a brief moment of pants crapping terror. I...
