Is there some treatment that doesn't result in such a shiny finish? I may be weird, I think it detracts a bit from the final result. Having said that, what a fabulous outcome for that bit of timber!

Would woodturners etc be interested in lombardi poplar? I've got some biggish one coming down soon, timber is just going to a burn pile otherwise.
