 Ha, I would agree LJ, considering the quality of wood that is sold these days. But , like I said, I would use a known straight edge which could also be a piece of some kind of steel.

Brett, did you ever figure what the problem was??? I would be mad as:X after going through all that work and have the same problem resurface, I seen the crane thread you posted and it looks like your chipper is back on the job. I found it interesting that only the right side of the knife hit...

I am so glad you started this thread Brett. Your chipper is very similar to my Morbark and all those big pieces look so familiar. It is nice to see it disassembled and see that it isn't such an impossible job should the same misfortune happen to me. Got my fingers crossed. I recently got our...

I hope your kidding Frans:?:? I won't even run bushes with dirty roots through my chipper. Since we are chipping bigger diameter wood and working our way closer to the bottom end of trees. I am on the constant lookout for nails sticking out of limbs and other treasures people like to adore...

Your telling it like it is. This is real life and the way it will play out. It would cost more than the repairs to the chipper if you tried to fight this out with the help of a lawyer. This would be a classic case of passing the buck and shirking responsibilty. Just have to bite the bullet on...

Mr Sir, That is not a bad price for a tool like that. I also like SK tools.

No I haven't Brian, I don't know if they would carry a torque wrench that would go up that high to be honest with you. Not everyone needs something like that unless you work on big equipment. The only use I would have for a torque wrench that measures 300 plus pounds would be for use on our...

    Bent Chipper Blades

This is what I am afraid of with my new to me machine. I have been putting off changing blades because I don't have a torque wrench that goes up to 300 lbs. That is what the dealer told me those bolts need to be torqued at. Thee dealer also told me I could get by with a cheater bar on a...

Sorry to hear of your bad luck. Really hurts when you don't have a chipper or the truck that pulls it is down for one thing or another.:cry: My guess is your looking at close to $6000.00. Maybe more if you have the dealer do the work. I have had engines go to hell, feed wheels, bearings...

Mr Sir, No not at all. You have a definate ligit bitch with Sherrill. What I am trying to say is that if I tore up a machine using dealer supplied knives. Then the dealer could not back out on the damage done by saying I used a knive from another supplier. That is all. Just covering all the...

Dang, I have never seen that either. Didn't know that was possible for a knife to do that. You definately have a problem there. Makes me glad I get our knives from the Morbark dealer. Might cost more but at least I have piece of mind and if something goes wrong I have a legit bitch.
