...though I am a little far to help , I can relate...the 540B we hired lost the brake on the winch so we could yarn in hitches but when she drove the F'n cable would yarn back out.... we had to fix it...a hydraulic hose leaked onto the dry side of the winch contaminating the brake
...skidder w / out winch, hmmmm every move counts ...simply cannot get stuck....tense ....though I suppose a Tirfor w / block could probably get you out with drive assist
