    You can tell if a saw is starting to run hot by the way it preforms . Actually in my little life that's more times than not when stumping .You're down in it with chips piling up so fast you can't keep the saw out of them and the damned thing gets hot .Not to mention trying to choke you to...

    On the older horizontal cylindered saws that accumualtion of crud was worse than on todays saws .You can still get it though on saws like the 200T . It's good idea to dust them off peridically with a blast of compressed air .A clean saw is a happy saw .:)
