Last year or so Oregon let some loose with the side angle not cut quite deep enough on the round chisel . It wasn't noticable until it was filed about two times then it wouldn't cut worth a hoot unless you reworked it a tad bit . There must have been a lot of it because people were grumbling...

Oh it's just like most things .You don't get good at anything if you don't do it . One reason I suggest a file guide is the fact it holds the file at about the correct depth plus aligns the correct angle . I use them every so often but then finish it out by free hand filing .It just keeps...

Anybody can file a chain using a file guide .I'll bet I could show my granddaughter how to and she's 15 years old . In about 7-8 years I could show the 4 year old .At the present time the little darlins attention span is not that long .:)
