I just find it interesting . That variety of oak which I assume is the same can get large here .Not like a Doug fir but still in all a 100 foot plus tree ,4 feet in diameter is not small in anybodies eye .
As I mentioned though in another thread ,trees like the Lombardy poplar do not get large...
I'm learning all kinds of stuff . I had no idea that red oaks grew on the far coast .I just figured out of ignorance that the area was infested with Lombardy poplar ,Douglas firs and redwoods .--How 'bout that .
Now ,just out of curiosity do those coast oaks get as hard as ours on this side ...
