    Oh you can take a little dozer and pop a big stump .The problem is you end up with a hole large enough for a small basement or swimming pool .     It's really easier if the whole tree is still there if you are going to shove it out .Digging one out it doesn't make much difference . A large track hoe can have three on the ground before a big dozer can pop one . Unless it's a huge dozer with a tree spade .Now those can really pop trees .:O

    A D8 Cat works equaly as well .:D That aside an excavater is better for popping yard stumps .Track or just tractor mounted back hoe will get the job done .
