    All I've ever used was a Granberg mini mill .I got some nice 4 by 12 by 8 foot white oak planks but it was a hell of a job getting them .That thing might work okay if a person had to chainsaw rip a log to get it down to size for a bandsaw or something .

    Actually you can find what's left of circle mills for about scrap price . Smaller ones like 48" blade . Fact my buddy had one given to him he just hasn't figured out what to do with yet .I didn't offer any advice either .Been down that road too many times in my life time .Damned circle mills...

    Yeah probabley a 400 HP giant bandsaw that cuts both ways about 90 thousand Bd ft per hour .In about three days you won't even be able to find his house just a giant mountain of sawdust .Mrs. Squish will be thrilled over that one no doubt .:lol:

    To edge it just chaulk line it and free hand it through a table saw .It takes a little practice but you'll get the hang of it .I suppose you could use a straight edge and a hand power saw and get the same results .

    What little I've done I've tried refiled chain in several configurations of rip chain .It might have been a teeny bit smoother but it was slow as a snail .Chisel did a whole bunch smoother than a circle mill and a whole lot faster than rip chain which was good enough for what I was doing ...
