That would work My choice would be to get some CR-10 soak the barrel and leave x 45 min. / swab and repeat x 2. Then brush it with a non-metallic brush x 30 -60 times and then swab. After that oil it really good with G-96 and then forget about it if there is any pitting. if it shoots well...- 1savagehunter
