    Yep, Greg, it's double locking. Our rope snaps were not locking snaps, but the ones on our lanyards/buckstraps were. If/when they got nicked, we had to take them out of service.     I make my primary lanyards around 8'. I keep a longer one in the truck, along with a spare. I'm still using snaps off retired Asplundh buckstraps I brought home 20 years ago, and every once in a while a snap spring will break.

    I have a steel-core with a prussik made out of Icetail. I don't particularly like it, but it adds a measure of safety when blocking down.

    I make mine out of 5/8" 3-strand Treemaster. My prussiks I've been buying from Bailey's....the 3-strand with steel snap.
