Sounds like it might. But after all, Branch Doc reports that it works great just as it is...maybe we don't need to fix what ain't broke :D.

Have to be just the right amount of "hook" to the hook...even then, might be tricky to get it to fly free consistently.

I have to pre-strip mine, with the auto-rewind, there is no freespool. I find that I can sometimes lay the cord carefully out, back and forth over a clean limb, from closer to me out toward the direction I want to toss, and it'll sometimes even feed out cleanly . Just as often, I coil...

Here's version 2.0. I followed Bearclaw's suggestion of using zip ties, cause I had some and didn't have small enough hose clamps on hand. Initially I set it up with a couple around the spine of the biner, but that seemed insecure as the ties could slip off the reel mounts. I added a couple to...

Thanks,Bob. T'was kind and most generous of you to send it along. I rather like having such a cool t bag on my reel, for sure.

Exactly. Otherwise it would be a nice app. I'd kinda rather not permanently mod the reel...I was given it by my Father before he died, silly but sentimental...I probably will return it to fishing duty when I retire from active climbing. Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

I guess a couple of itty bitty hose clamps would do it...maybe.

It works, but I was wondering about somehow mating the reel mount straight onto the spine of a carabiner. I dunno...

How do you like that spiffy Harrison Rocket? :D I was gifted that by a fellow THouser after I loaned a piece of interesting gear to try out.

Like more than a few climbers, I have found that 50 feet of throwline can be a bear to deploy and stow up in the tree with any semblance of efficiency. Also like more than a few, I've found that one of the auto rewind flyfishing reels is a slick way to deal with the problem. My question is for...
