How are you going to stitch it? Do you have access to an industrial sewing machine? It looks real nice.

    Homemade gear

So lets see some selfmade climbing gear:lol:! For starters here are some of my recent builds: a chest harness, a hitchclimber rw midline attachable tether, and the haas knock off now with inner tubing for added smoothnes. Im curious about your stuff, Cheers from Germany Johannes.

    Homemade haas style ascender

No worries. Thats quite close to what i used to run. Doubling up the cord didnt help for me as the clip in for the elastic was to low. I use a rw with a hc pulley and clip to the middle hole.

    Homemade haas style ascender

The big difference for me is that due to the elastic being attached at the bottom there is more cord to stretch. This way you can take bigger strides without the elastic ever going slack. The homemade version was probly under 10 euros in materials if you exclude the petzl basic.

Put some plastic tube inside the tubular. Works really well and i get a lot of lift for taking big strides.

    Homemade haas style ascender

Version two. I found out that the old pantin did not grab very well when mounted at the knee. So i just made this one with a petzl basic. Havnt had time to try it but it works really well in the living room.

    Homemade haas style ascender

No there is no plastic tubing inside, the Bunge runs straight through the tubular webbing. But it could be added quite easily to reduce wear. The clip is just an old chainlink which keeps the ascender orientated right.
