I did a bit more of a lookup on him.
According to Wiki he lost in a Muay Thai fight and also has around 60-70 fights.
I don’t doubt he was a good fighter though but a bit like Steven Segal. His story my have been massaged a bit when he became and actor.
Cory, I watched quite a bit of it last night.
He has some very valid points and techniques but I am afraid I will call BS on anyone who claims to have had 200 fights and never lost.
Especially a Karate guy from the 70’s. I am not saying it is all BS but I ask why did he stop at 200 and how...
A couple of pictures captured by the event photographer.
Haakon got caught in a guillotine. It was pretty deep. As you can see from the picture.
It wasn’t surprising that he looked like he was gonna pass out when his head popped out and he got the guy in a footlock.
Thanks Mick.
Yes it was good it was not damaged.
He recovered quite well after his first knee surgery and then competed in 3 or 4 tournaments. Then ruptures the meniscus again which required a second surgery. He took the rehab just as serious but did’t rush back into competition quite so...
Both Haakon and Torstein competed in the BJJ Oslo Open 2025 today.
Haakon had his first match after recovery from knee surgery. He is also an adult now and in the blue belt category. He won the first match via footlock after being in a deep guilotine.
Second match he dominated for the...
Rodtang is an absolute beast.
Haggery is an absolute beast as well. Always has been. Fought well above his station as a hi moor and was knocking our grown men when still a junior.
I haven’t bought a UFC event in years.
I like to see the UK guys doing well and the obvious big fights.
But there are two many douchebags in the UfC for me. Colby Covington for one. Jon Jones (ok he is really good). But all he does is avoid fights and hold up divisions. I haven’t even...
@Mick!
Here is the other fighter vs SEAL clip I mentioned.
Notice he said they could last with him in his MMA training? The older dude automatically start talking about a street fight.
The full 25 minute video is out there somewhere. But I think the Navy Seal, who was also an MMA fighter...
That doesn’t surprise me regarding the comments.
It is the same with any of these things really. There are always some armchair expert saying in a real fight, blah blah blah!
It wasn’t a real fight though? Most armed forces learn CQC with or with out a weapon. The point of the exercise was...
There was also a video responding to a comment from Sean Strickland about how he would beat a trained Navy seal. The Navy Seals said BS so he called them out.
One brave Seal actually turned up and the UFC fighter beat the living shit out of him for the entire duration of the spar.
Respect...
I have seen the video before but not in the speeded up format.
For some reason X won’t load so I cannot see the comments.
What is the general tone of them??
Well, the results in. Torstein took Silver in his category. Lost his first fight to a far more experienced Russian kid. Then he tapped his second opponent out under a minute. Another kids dropped out of the group.
So one win and one loss meant he took 2nd place.
Thanks Cory.
Training hasn’t been as hardcore as in the past. I am 50 now so after almost half my life climbing trees, the old bod had a few niggles here and there.
I had to keep reminding myself that I was there for a holiday and to recover from a hard few months of tree work. As well as...
Oh, in other news. Torstein my youngest son has been training BJJ for about 6 months now.
He has his first tournament tomorrow. Haakon has been helping him on a game plan and going to help him out. Haakon isn’t competing as he only just 100% fit so hasn’t had a chance for fight training and...
