It seems like most of Eastern Europe burns beech. Apparently beech bark is great kindling.

My rez buddy over east does that too. He splits mostly ash...but occasionally cottonwood too. My Stihl maul is apparently 6.6 pounds. 8 pounds sounds heavy!

That little red bit in my salad is a tomato that Daniel grew in the window. He just started another indoor garden. This time for herbs. His old indoor garden produces tomatoes and basil.

Does beech split nice?

Been a 2500 a month at different times for propane and electric. Been different times when the boiler ran 24/7 and the house never got over 55.

By hand Cory. I had borrowed a 27 ton splitter when I was scrounging cotton wood. Fir and lodgepole seem to split so nice that it makes a hydraulic splitter seem slower than hell. Split everything with my Stihl maul now. It's inside tonight so I can oil it.

Kirkland Columbian comes in a in a nice steel can. It holds three pounds of coffee. We used to buy it off Amazon...now we are Costco members.
