Tree down in St Louis. Need help.

Mine is so ridiculous that i can easily and comfortably slip pipe wrenches in the 2 hammer holders  i got an electricians bag for my hand tools on the right, a big 2 pocket bolt bag that will even hold a speed square in between the pockets on the left, and in the back i have a hammer loop...

Tree down in St Louis. Need help.

I run the cheap ones common in construction with the side ds for lanyard use, the more pads the hotter they are, and they catch sparks from welding right where you don't want them to. I'm also a huge fan of wearing my toolbelt (think ironworker level of tools and design) when working in a lift...

Tree down in St Louis. Need help.

Yes harnesses are annoying, but getting thrown out of a lift is even worse. I personally know guys who have had lifts tip, ppe is simply playing the law of averages on your side.

    How'd it go today?

@CurSedVoyce Try smaller whips, aka less movement if you can. With 7018 and 6013 you should be able to drag the rod on the metal, flux gently resting on it, and with enough drag angle that the slag and molten metal flows back behind you and keeps the rod lit. You can also hover right above too...

    In The News...

They make us take the osha 30 and i swear half of it is electrical injuries, absolutely horrible. I guess it usually burns from the inside out, first slide you'll think oh that's not too bad considering, then it just gets worse and worse, and they have to go in and cut away the dead tissue, and...

    The Joke/Funny Pic/Video Thread

We've got cicada Armageddon happening here right now, it's crazy. The wife picks them off her tires every am before driving away, and it's a constant hum all day now. Multiple broods all at once, I've never seen anything like it before.

Just got home from a shutdown at a small power plant, swapped out a welded valve. Work tomorrow too at a different location, should be a nice weekend.

I only said scaffold because he said no lift, a 1 man scissor would be far better, and you can drive them through the building no problem if need be

    Palm removals with limited access.

Since you got 10 of them on hard surface and they look pretty short, i would be lazy and rent some scaffold on wheels to piece them out if they're as short as they look. I would pull the scaffold out of the way before you start blocking so it doesn't get hit, cripple it, climb down, move...

    I’m a sucker for a bargain

Thats a wire rope one with a keeper, so it's not cheap, but I'm pretty sure someone makes ones for fiber rope too. I would be very tempted to build my own at those prices.
