    How'd it go today?

This is why I wrench on my own stuff. Inevitably, some one costs me more time and money than if I just took the time to do it myself.

    How'd it go today?

This was after I changed the wifes oil in the Yukon. Boy was I pissed off! Sometimes I have her take it to a local mechanic I can trust. Guess one of the guys is new or something. Oil plug on a 5.3 does not need a breaker bar to unscrew. Yes, it was that tight. I'm suprised the aluminum oil...

    How'd it go today?

Fixing the little ignition modual actuator thingy. Key switch turns gear, gear pushes toothed rod with pin to push a block that moves the switch pin that moves the slide that touches contacts that says off, run, start. Its down in the side of the steering column. And it takes a little doing and...

Branch walking, how do you do it?

For the insane long ones, I'll sometimes set a second climb line and vector in. Other times, proper SRT redirects and spider in and out.

Branch walking, how do you do it?

Yup. Hand over hand return walking back up the limb toward center. However, I tend the slack at about 3-4 feet of it to prevent too much of a fall. Rope is just an extension of the arm. I tried 3:1 when I first started SRT since I enjoyed the 2:1 advantage of Ddrt prior. But it really seemed...

The New Offical Mutts of the House thread

Paisley was checking on the baby goat (that seems to really like his dogs) and spotted a gofer pushing soil up at the fence. The curious goat kept interferring. Eventually, Paisley snatched it. Showed it to me in her mouth. I went down to praise her. She had "soft mouthed" the rodent, dropped...

What Did Ya'll Have For Dinner Tonight?

I can assure you, there were smiles at the table. No sauces needed. Just a little butter on the broccoli. My grandma and grandpa on my mom's side had a large patio on the back of their old adobe style house they enclosed. It kind of became the family room.. it had a wonderful brick bbq with a...

    Failure analysis

Ring Broke. Then the piston beat it to death against the head of the cylinder. That is the ring pin sticking out. Might have swallowed something as it looks like the ring hit the port. Exhaust looks like. Check the bottom end and see if you lost the bearing on the rod or at the wrist pin.
