Cedar?

Someone just cut the tree down towards the road and took the top portion. Left the 35 foot butt log. I was surprised it wasn't poached long ago but it was pretty well hidden in the brush.

The guy that hacked that tree down apparently ages ago, he gutted the hinge nicely but I wonder if the Dutchman was intentional or not, or perhaps it was unintentional but he spotted it and decided it was inconsequential so he didn't bother correcting it by opening the face

This log was a salvage that I found. Really nice log with minimal heart rot.

Had some helpers today also. More to come.

Working on some totem logs for the Wrangell Cooperative association. This is Western redceadar. Felled a couple of nice ones with a tree jack today.
