    How'd it go today?

Hackery Apparently canker doesn’t discriminate between species of tree. Hopefully it does between flora and fauna.

Two block/ round firewooding technique without hanging and retrieval of the saw

What is your climate like? Wet winter's aren't an issue. Lush, irrigated lawns in summer are. How's tree-ing going? I'm SouthSoundTree on the Buzz.

I have no experience with mats, black or otherwise...but a sheet of black plastic will scorch a lawn in very little time, I have learned to my chagrin.

The squeals on the last clip were because the land dropped away towards a cabin. One of the lumps I knocked off rolled that way and wedged in between the trees and was a bugger to cut up. Hence the delight after we built a little catchers mitt to keep the log off the floor and rolling sideways.

Not posted in this thread for a while. Climbed and dismantled a decent sized spruce today. Had Haakon out with us helping in the ground. Surprisingly sound timber as at that size they are often decayed round these parts.

White paint? Or some white powder that might work it's way in and not wear off like paint would?

    "LPRs"

Tough question. I assume reflective tint on windows on top of IR absorbing coating, and either face mask or a face shield with the same coatings, but then you stand out just by wearing weird stuff. Light altering coatings on licence plates is probably illegal. Get enough people riled up against...

I've done it a tiny bit, above 45⁰ north latitude when it was in the 70s. Then, I mitigated.

I’ve used black mats for years, never once burnt a lawn.

Black. An oscillating sprinkler can help with burning lawns. Doesn't take much. If I need to mat-in, simmering I pro one 2x8 against the other, like an upside-down V, or make a kick stand from a branch in 4x8s.

Rounds aren't supposed to break in impact I used the 2 block/ 2 round system for chunking, or whatever someone on Arbtalk called it. To firewood this down without hanging and lifting the saw (ms362 fwiw) , I bucked a round through, started the next kerf until it could hold the saw, then...
