    How'd it go today?

What you can do with a solid skillset in using a throwline (and multiple throwlines) is pretty much only limited by your imagination and doggedness. What you describe is within that range, maybe not even much of a challenge @davidwyby. ;) Boy, you are really getting a lot of use out of that...

    How'd it go today?

About 48” dbh The tree fell on the face cut wedge and squirted it back up into place on the stump. I was dumbfounded. Soak the aches away…

    How'd it go today?

When I’m pulling, I’m pulling with cable or 1.25” Bullrope…usually have something to get me up there, and specific ways and places I need to attach to. I wrapped this whole tree with the rope today half way up. Too branchy for a throw, no single stem strong enough. I see maybe throwing for a...

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

I'm jealous. Another below zero night. Wind chills have been something like -30 something American. Kubota self-started at zero this morning, so I'm happy about that.

Didn’t measure but probably minimum 100’…. They are a super light wood, can barber chair, even peel out w kerf cuts…. Super heavy headed. There is a push by Albizzia Project to use the wood for use…. They are huge and super invasive. Monkey pod is a whole different tree.

    Wood stove heat

Well, perhaps if I was not being able to more than adequately heat our house doing it the way I have been, I might. But cutting twice as many times per cord, stacking twice as many pieces per cord lacks appeal when I'm pretty satisfied with my current methods :).

I don’t know you are on TikTok but their shop/store has tire bead seaters for under $100 and have a push button release. Add a tube and you are golden. A lot of the videos are of spud guns but basically the same thing as a launcher.

Line it with fire brick. The Fisher takes a 22”straight in and six to ten splits at once.

    Wood stove heat

13 inches on my stove. It is a two-fer for me. When it isn't too cold out sideways makes a fire without overheating the house. When you need a hot fire straight in delivers that. My main heat source is big old stove with bi metallic draft control that takes 23 inch lunkers. Probably not...
