    How'd it go today?

Shopping for a new tractor seat. Wengers in Pennsylvania had one for $167 plus shipping. They had a number for the Deere equivalent. Wild ass guesses? $1100 and change.

They might turn some good stuff out sometimes. Last loop I got wouldn’t bite. Square is great for felling, side cuts well, and slices through wood easier, so there’s less pull and fatigue.

Stihl RSLK always cut well for me. Nobody left with a square grinder around here.

Been spending time with Simington lately. Needs a little more forward lean. Fixing brand new husky square ground. The corner alignment was off (high) and had a side beak, or the side cutter was ahead of the top plate. Makes it not bite. I don’t know of any square that cuts well out of the box.

I don't know how you handle road closures, but here it takes two weeks to get permission from the traffic police. A two-week wait is unacceptable to me!)

Makes for happier lungs. I wear a respirator regularly. We have minimal to no summer rain so it gets dusty without grinding or blowing.

My helper spent ~15 minutes with a hose soaking around that stump. I wear a mask running the blower or if I can't get out of the way running the stump grinder.

Cranial or facial PPE? Standing perpendicular to the wheel is fairly safe. I ground deeper than usual to reduce the chance of material being thrown forward by keeping the deflector low. It's definitely gas, a similarly powered diesel grinder would be around $200k. Practically the...
