    How'd it go today?

Splitter bits.. autocorrect and no reading glasses... The little pieces of wood that fall from big pieces when they don't split cleanly along the grain. I like hand splitting. My body says "yes" for a while, then my wrists and runs will hurt for a few days, so machine splitting with a 4-way...

Trained up the 2 new groundie enough for a day up a deodora cedar at my house. I threw-in lines. The one guy is a college student who is off for the summer. A gym boulderer and top-roper. The other guy, very occasional, is a adjunct faculty at Evergreen college, filling in some of his summer.

    Rock Climbing

Come out and we'll do some climbing! Yesterday's 4.3 Mile hike in, 700' 5.8 (mostly all easier, one 5.8 move) bolted route, 700' of rappelling, and 4.3 miles out, half in the dark, the last quarter with a headlamp.

Friction pads for sure. At a cliff, you won't have to put 100 percent of your weight on the rope to get down. You can always, very easily, make a friction device to add a la RW.
