Sawing some stuff for a new home build. An arborist who wants to feature a variety of locally salvaged materials. A nice but short butt log that made some nice boards for paneling or flooring. Some bookmatched brace stock from a log I had in the firewood pile.

There is one pine and the rest is ash.

Had a few logs dropped off today for a custom sawing order. Customer is out of town now. (Logs were supposed to come two weeks ago:whine:) I wish something would come together here soon.

I cooked a cup of rice in the InstantPot and dumped a can of chili over it. Probably the height of my cooking capacity. :/:

The pump is still pumping, it's just leaking badly. I'll see how it goes. I have to get some stuff sawn asap. Any of the neighbors who drilled deep have nasty water. Any of the shallow, roughly 20', wells have good water. A sand point can be driven with a sledge hammer, or a post pounder.

I'm enjoying the sun. Trying to make the most of it while it's here. Started the next phase of sawmill reorganization yesterday. Parked the Kubota and was planning my next move and the water pump let go and drained most of the coolant. I've never had one fail when it wasn't running...

I'm sort of at a stopping point for my sawmill cleanup. I've got some paying work for tomorrow and then I'm going to focus on processing all the odd pine logs. They are going to be timbers, boards, or dunnage. It all depends on what they look like when I open them up. I tried a panoramic shot...

An old logger near me hired a young kid to run his skidder. After a couple hitches the kid came walking out of the woods to tell him that he had rolled the skidder. He handed him the grease gun and said it was never going to get any easier to grease it. :lol:
