Also depends on the saw size. Backchaining with your climb saw is a different animal than with a larger power head. I mean, hell, who doesn't like a little push back now and again?

There are no more lil piles on my work sites. That's the first wrinkle I smooth out in people I work with. That article remains, however, the codex for the effective ground tech.

Ok, been a while, guys and gals. But, after spending all night with 2 upchucking little boys and a few loads of laundry, I climbed about a third of small row of lombardy poplars we had to prune and said, see ya later. So, I went home and did some admin, met a few clients and found myself with...

Well, I suppose hate was probably a strong word. I can 'zen' while doing just about anything, except watching people make mini piles. I haven't quite achieved the dimension shift, but probably because I have too much ego.

I have two full time employees and three is definitely the magic number on larger jobs. One of the guys, who happens to be my brother, climbs pretty well, and while he has some areas in which he need to improve, and I always do the technical and advanced climbing, I can trust him to do a high...

Dang! It's been a while since I've logged in, too long! I've been plugging away business wise, I now have two full time guys, one of whom is my brother. It'll be 5 years in business in November, time just flies! I've got three little munchkins now, Tay (8), Ryker (5), and Nash (3), all of whom...

A couple from a crane removal, and then some from a dead pine flop. In a bit of a cold snap at the moment, so things are moving work wise, but its slow. And I'm A-ok with that!!

    milling thread

We recently finished a contract to remove some beetle killed ponderosa pine trees at a resort in the South Okanagan. I subbed out a local with a wood mizer (55 bucks an hour!!) to process the logs we cut, as the client was interested in some 1x6"x6' fence boards. After the sawyer was done with...

    Wild Salmon

Thanks for posting that, Gerry. An eye opener for sure. I am ashamed of the state of affairs in my country. Our government has slowly been sliding towards fascism, under the guise of stimulating the economy and providing security from global markets and the great boogeyman go to guy the...

    A bet to clear up...

My friend and I are having a mild bet. The query is whether the helmet David Driver wears in the video 'INTRO X-RIGGING RINGS video part ONE' is a Kask or a pfanner. Please help me out!!
