I think whip stitch locking it is plenty plenty…. I been using it and it’s a solid piece of kit.
These elastics are just bungee cords w the hooks slipped off…. The original binds look like these hog rings you mentioned…
A mini carabiner fits perfectly.
Got to watch the goats feet hooves… pretty wet here so I got big lava rocks for them to climb and scrape against.
Really nice to have them off leash and running around. Looking for a couple more.. they just eat grass and fertilize. Carbon converters.

Just trying to get a cleaner elastic than a knot…. Need to get some tight wire crimps er something.
