Ripping big logs by hand

Righhhhhht?
They guy I got my 066 from ripped (quartered) a 7' wide oak in the valley with it before I owned it. A track hoe still had to split seperate the 1/4s since it was only a 3' bar. #sorrybutthereaintenoughmoneyandImnotimpressed.

I'm going to rip a portion of this one,100 foot cottonwood that became a hazard .Cottonwood gets lighter as it dries and makes very good outrigger pads unlike oak that stays heavy forever .I had to get Tom and crew out for this take down as I could not get high enough to rig the 1" nylon rope plus operate the bull dozer for the tug .I was 200 feet away off 90 degrees by way of a redirect so I did not get bombarded with widow makers .The main trunk was a tad over 5 feet and the largest of the split is a tad over 3 feet .Needless to say but it shook the ground
