Ditto on the drone. I was amazed to see that a parachute worked as well as it did. HOW did they know the atmospheric density to even know it would work?

Probably from samples from previous missions. A probe could check it. A telescope might help figure the density based on how light passes through. I guess they could use color to determine what the atmosphere is made of, then figure the density based on gravity and temperature.

The patterns on NASA's Perseverance Mars Rover parachute, looking like a morse or binary message, but decoding might took a while.
Most of Enthusiastis tried following a inner, middle, upper and outer circle Patten 0⚪1🔴, measuring goes upto string of 80 bits in 4 groups
Note: Most are padding 0&1 in irregular Patten for conversions. (So I started with 🕐 1'o clock direction)
Here, I added the binary string
Inner rim circle

Middle rim circle

Upper middle rim circle

For decoding the message, split the 80 bits into 10 bits(digit) binary (eg; 0000000010, 000001010) to convert into Decimal (base 10) and match it in alphabetical order(1-26). Have a nice day!

That was just great to watch, I've always been a space buff.
Well, not always, but since watching the fake Moon landing on a neighbours TV, anyway.
I was too young to really understand what it meant, when Kennedy ( John F.) got shot, so Neal Armstrong stepping out of the Eagle was moment of my young life that I'll never forget..
Just one question, I notice NASA use kilometers instead of miles and they are landing on the red planet...................does that mean they are commies?
