I’ve seen people speak very disparagingly about internet friends…I’m one of those people who thinks strangers are just friends you haven’t met yet, so I don’t agree. What difference does it make how you interact?

That being said, one day I’d like to travel and meet my “internet friends”.

We did that here back in the forum's heyday. We had several get togethers, the biggest and best was 15 years ago.

I was just thinking of Jed this morning and trying to figure out how something like this could have happen to someone like him? Then I realized that I would never find a reason and just have to accept that bad things happen to good people every day, like the saying goes. I am just so happy to have been able to call him a friend. His cell phone number is still in my phone...I cannot bring myself to delete it.

I don’t have Jed’s number but I do have numbers of old friends and family member who are no longer with us.

Those numbers will be in there forever or till I lose the phone.

What’s that old saying? people only truly die when their name is spoken for the last time.

I like to think of my mobile phone and computer contact lists as my version.

I often will be scrolling through looking for someone’s number and I will see the name of a deceased friend and it revives a quick memory. Again, I like to think it means they are forever with us.

🙏🏼
