How'd it go today?

Still alive and kicking. Been spending less time online and I haven’t been receiving alerts to well when I am. Trying to keep my hours at work down between 40 and 50 hours a week now. I am growing tired of this work thing. Don’t confuse this with getting lazy. I just want my physical and mental states to be exhausted with different activities.

Good stuff. Yeah from my armchair I'd say dial it back a tad while the dialing is good. Likely El Jeffe would have you put in 60+ hours/wk yet precisely because you are so crucial to the biz, you probably have more clout than you realize and if you say e.g. gotta keep it to 40 hrs max, you could get what you desire. :dude:

Even tho your hours can seem excessive, look on the bright side in that you aren't an owner bc then the stress and workload can very difficult to bear long term. Mo money mo problems

I did 12 hours today and didn’t even touch a saw.
Two estimates this morning, repairs at the shop (broken 1/2” tap, fml swearing lots of swearing) phone calls, invoices, hardware store run X2, picked up kids at school, made dinner, off for three more emergency calls after freak wind event, and one more estimate phone call for tomorrow. Home by 8:15. All the while not having a guy like treebilly running the show.

We got back from Europe yesterday and I woke up today at 2am (body thinks it’s 8am due to time zone offset). Lots to do…but one less chore: someone already cut our grass while we were gone… it could be anyone in a three block radius… determining who is a fool’s game, as I cleared snow and/or dealt with trees or home repairs for so many,

Our last day in Amsterdam was the eve of Koning’s Dag (King’s Day). 1 million people descend on the city for a huge party, boat parade, and city-wide flea market (anyone is allowed to clam a piece of sidewalk anywhere in the city to put out items to sell; we saw taped rectangles everywhere with the word Bezet [Reserved] all through the city). There were already party boats out on all the canals the day before, and a huge concert in the open area between the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum - shoulder-to-shoulder bodies. And, more orange in one place, as almost everyone is wearing at least something orange.

Spider Bite?
am gradually removing a large hackberry tree over my parking area. I had cut off the dead branches that were most threatening to my van in a couple sessions over the last few years. I have a week off my day job so I am back at it. Saturday morning I got bit or stung by something on my underarm. I did not feel anything at the time. After I came down from the tree I had pain as if I had bruised it badly. I assumed that I had somehow bumped my arm while working and not noticed at the time. Later Saturday, on inspection there was a large red welt. The pain continued all day Saturday and Sunday. It was so bad I took Ibuprofen which helped a lot. I need to avoid Benadryl because I have BPH. I do take Allegra every day for hay fever. Now it’s Monday and the pain has changed to itching.

spider bite or the like sounds right to me. Don't let it get out of control.

There are caterpillars that can pack a nasty sting. They feed on bushes and trees. Friend went to ER with a sting. They asked him about using different soap.... blah blah. He finally got his phone out and brought up a picture and description of what bit him. Quite painful.
