Homemade haas style ascender

No. It does knot and tends well as a Vt.
Mike has tried it now and I stick to it being tight for him, as he is more used to a Blake's. Easier transition for him being more old school. I need to buy another HH...

I'm looking for a good quality bungee so I can make one, our exchange sucks right now to buy from the states. I just use an ascender in the middle of two loops and advance it by hand.... for now. :/:

I am trying the stretch velcro wrap from a Sugoi hand saw to secure a knee ascender around my leg just above my knee and cam buckle with foot loop. So no bungee easy on/off
Pretty good. Likey

After seeing everyone’s awesome DIY versions I’m almost ashamed to show mine!
I wanted it super compact when stowed and multi use, oh and cheap (maybe have $20 in it for the boat snap and the wire gate carabiner).
The 3 strand and the bungee are both girth hitched so I can quickly remove them if I need to make a 3-1 for a nasty limb walk.

I think I used the croll as well instead of the "ascender"(?) because of the 90 degree hole for attachment sitting nicer , or some such detail like that. MEC has good bulk bungee various sizes. In Canader, eh.

I've been rocking this one since ropewalkers became popular. Only ones I've owned are homemade. I tried the production version of one or the other main styles on TH loan.

Petzl handled ascender, cut and drllled.
