Fairly large for our area. A codom top broke out and a large limb from the 3rd whorl down helped form a new top. I’ve only seen the upper whorl fulfill that role. I’m assuming this is a single tree?

May have been one tree once upon a time, but with all that included bark on both sides of the tree, I'd be hard pressed to make the argument looking at those photos. Still a really cool specimen. I'd have probably built a swing in it, up above the crotch.

Like the ones where you squeeze the arms and make the swinger do flips? That would be exciting :^P

It looks like there is quite a bit of bark inclusion at that union. Is this a tree you are managing, or just cool tree you happened to see?
I was just there replacing the water heater and noticed it. She said she has someone who trims/manages it. She said she can’t afford the 5K for removing it. Some cabling and through bolting wouldn’t be a bad idea imho.
