The Official Work Pictures Thread

First job of the year, 2 pecker poles climbed to set pull rope, somebody else doing the cleanup. I love no cleanup.

Why would you climb a tree just to set a rope? Most people these days set the rope first. Imagine how much time and effort you would have saved if you had a Big Shot and throw line.

A little climbing helps justify the price tag some times. LOL
Personally I would have shot a line, base tie, and tuggy tuggy collect check.

I had a true WTF moment with that first picture.
Then I realized, it was the top that had broken off.

I think he will convert to the Treehouse, not foresaking TB, but...

The tree is an area with recent clearing, nearby. It is being end-weight reduced, after Snowmageddon 2019 broke it. Its an old, old remnant Oregon White Oak, which they want to keep. Pretty low risk to the occupied areas. Won't reach the homeowner's house. If it breaks at the crotch, it should miss the neighbor's house.

Let him know he won't need to wear his helmet here...

He signed up.

He'll be along.

Best scale is you in the tree Sean. Bigger than it looked at first.

I cast the shadow on the ground from the broken crotch with saw. I let him do all the climbing, so far. Did the equipment mobilization and some ground work with the new guy.

Today we pruned. And I looked at a small logging job.25- 30 ish medium to big cedar, and some pretty Big maples.

Booom, Chaka lacka. Goal! 20190312_112858.jpg 20190312_112936.jpg 20190312_113001.jpg 20190312_113009.jpg
Told the HO we would take down the dead oak blocking the fell, he would lose two dying manzanita, but we would strip the tree of limbs as many as possible to save the nice manzanita and surrounding canopy. Tree was 180 out of the desired lay. 2:1 fixed that with wedges backing it up. Tree was leaning towards the neighbors drive, fence and well house. Crispy bugger.

Tyler Durden put on spurs today, first time for the trip... Dying fir... Dead fir.

I went between speedlining and pulling the top for him, and a row of firs to fell up front.

All put on ground only... No cleanup.

I'll probably need to knock over a few trees for the neighbor, now.
