It didn't hold my attention much after the prospector story. The last one was totally nuts. I was hoping the entire show woulda been about that first goofy gunslinger.

It was...interesting comparing the propaganda & strategies used by the mine owners back then and the far right of the US today.

Yup. I don't know how the labor struggle is depressing, to me it's motivating! I need to check that out

I might check that one out. :/:

I've seem the coal towns here, read about and seen videos about West Virginia. Also know a lot about the UK mining.

All depressing. Just glad that era is over, it was a struggle that's for sure.

From Dave's link above.

Watched Bohemian Rhapsody last night - best film I've seen in a long time!

House of Flying Daggers, it was on while I was having dinner.

Gary would love it, set mostly in a bamboo forest and it's got ninja's and stuff.

I loved it, too!

It is like a fairy tale, that all of a sudden, they have been able to put into pictures instead of words.

Crouching tiger, Hidden Dragon was the first of those and a real game changer.

Incidentally, I just read in my paper, that she turned 40 today.

We are watching the latest True Detective, the one with Stephen Dorff and Marhershala Ali.

We are having real trouble hearing and understanding what some people are saying, unintelligible.

Anyone else?

I need to go back to that series. I've just watched the first season. Curious about how you can't hear what they're saying!

The second season is garbage, but this is a good season so far. Lol Mick, they do kinda mumble, but that's kinda the dialect too. We leave subtitles on for everything at our house so we don't wake the kids, so maybe it's worse than i thought. If you think that's bad, try watching the shows about alligator hunting, the show adds subtitles even though everyone watching speaks English as a native language lol. The deep southern dialects (many different ones depending on the region) are sometimes hard to understand as a Midwesterner, as is the northern ones
