A forester in Germany released 2 in 1934 near Hesse, to" enrichen the fauna"!
Well, it sure got enriched, they have upwards of a million today.

Some American soldiers at an air base in France released their pet racoons, so France has a nice big population as well.

This is one of those animals that shouldn't be let in, outside of it's natural habitat.

It strikes me that you could stand to plant some back-up trees.
If it looks like I asked a question, but put a period, it's probably a question.
Don't know why I'm question-mark challenged online. 😀 New Year's Resolution, better proof reading.

So, American soldiers brought raccoons into France?

Paratroopers jumping with raccoons strapped to their packs, with little raccoon goggles and all.

    Absolutely.

I got some little crab apples starting under the big tree. Going to try and dig them up next spring.

I don't know if they are suckers or seedlings.

Going to plant a bunch of trees if this drought ever lets up.
There are but two seasons. Winter, and preparing for winter.
