O.C.G.D. Thread, part two

Getting some numbers on another bucket truck. Been thinking about replacing my old 2001 AM855 since it has 18,000 hours and is getting tired. Spotted this AM55E on Altec's website and think it might do the trick. It's a 2005 but only 39,000 miles and 4,000 hours. https://www.altec.com/products/available-inventory/used/2005-altec-am55e/

Plusses are that it is old enough to not have DEF and all the headaches that go along with it, dead nuts reliable DT466 engine, 4X4, and the E series has a lot more side reach because the lower boom goes to 124* instead of just 100*. That means another 6-7' side reach and I can put the bucket on the ground beside the truck. Here's the spec sheet on the AM55E series.

I can sell the 2001 for enough money to pay off the loan on the 2008 I just bought last year and still just have one truck payment. And both bucket trucks will have under 5000 hours each.
 
Jason came down to $54,900 on it, says inventory is tight. I'll get him to throw in a bunch of extras for that price, though. New winch rope, full tank of fuel, full service and inspection, etc.

Three weeks later and I just got word today that the truck is back from the chassis shop and at the Ft. Wayne location again (DOT inspection, PM services, etc.). Probably late next week before it is in Birmingham where I can go look it over and ink a deal. Once I look it over I'm guessing another 2 weeks for them to fix whatever I find wrong and prep it for final delivery. Glad I'm not in a major hurry for it!
 
Holy cow this is taking forever! Almost 6 weeks since I first spoke with Altec about this truck and I'm just now able to go inspect/test drive it. Leaving this afternoon and will be there tomorrow morning to meet my salesman, then drive home in time to work on Friday. Once I agree to buy it they will still need a couple weeks to get it ready and fix whatever I find wrong. Hope to have it by the end of the month.
 
Closed a deal on the truck this morning. got a few thousand more knocked off because it's a 13 year old truck and financing is more expensive than expected, so he covered the additional cost. There is a bit more rust than visible in the pics so they are going to needle bead the sub frame and then seal it with epoxy, then prime and paint it. I'm sure their method will be better than anything I can do here in my back yard.

After we shook hands on a deal, Jason told me he had already priced in having the truck delivered to me in Florida. Essentially he had already gotten it approved for delivery from Ft. Wayne Indiana to Florida via Birmingham, which is way more than I expected. Hope to have it in about 3 weeks.
