I dreamed of this too in my years before driving a car. Even hydraulique powered to go near the road to act as a debris shield. But then, I realized some problems induced, like physique (mass and energy), solidity of the car's body (our cars weren't build like yours tanks), and the liability ( the cops wouldn't like the idea one bit).
