Saw video thread

Frankie: Brother, that vid came out a bit jumbled. So Jack did the 461, and you did the 462, right... maybe just a straight head to head next time. Seems to be all sorts of stuff in between.

Dude, what did you do to that pig?!! I love that thing.

OH!! O.k. Frankie, I finaly figured it out. :|:

So... first of all... my hat's off to ya for even improving on a stock saw at all. I have cylinder ported three saws in my life. One exploded. The other one got louder, and the third... I forgot what even happed to the third, but I think that I experience only the mildest "gains." Prolly just louder lol.

So, but, man, from what I could see in the vid... looks like ya get whatcha pay for with regard to the ol Jack Beelar, eh?

It seemed to get big gains from what it was, but isn't as impressive as a 2511t (proportionally). It's roughly equal to a stock 355t now.

I'll have to run the 303 against a 2511 to know which is faster, I predict it's close.

The 241's looked like the same speed, the first 461 seemed faster than the 462 (was it stock?). I see now in the description, so a stock 462 is about as good as a 101 ported 461? Interesting.

You need to forget using the overlap transition. Just use no transition, or leave a 2 second gap for the transition to pass.

Yah , the times were 9.4 and 10.0 for each saw respectively - the perfect video app makes you pay $ if you want advanced features hence it is what it is ... anything else I can do for ya junior ? Lol:D

The 461 was Extreme ported (early insane-0 according to Jack) ... I added an unlimited coil from a 460 and installed a max flow system , The 462c in this video utilized a tuned intake and tuned exhaust with STOCK porting ... it gained about 18% over stock and was behind about 12% to the Hotsaws101 build... The other vids feature the 461 Extreme and The 462c now hot-woods ported with tuned intake / exhaust ... dead even with 20”-32” bars ... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/aa-02ALxJfk" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Thanks Jed , I had Jack Beelar (Hotsaws101) build me 2 saws that I paid dearly for !!! I’m able to equal/exceed his work on the STIHL Pro Saw line-up for considerably LESS expense ! I used to touch base with ol Jack all the time and thought he was a cool dude but that changed when he called me out on one of his videos about stealing his “ intellectual property “ needless to say if one LISTENS to either Saw run you can clearly hear the difference ... Ol Jack wouldn’t divulge anything to me even after I put over $1000 in his pocket but that’s his prerogative right ? Both saws he built are good runners but I’m building my own saws now and I won’t deal with Jack again ... lotsa guys right there with him for 1/2 the cost lol ...eh ?

355 is 18.5% faster in the dry Ash, and 11.5% faster in the pine. I'd like to think the 303 is nearly maxed out, but I think there's a good bit of power left in the 355.

STIHL recommends a 16-20 bar for the 261c ... COULD it pull a 28-32 ? Sure but the Oiler most likely wouldn’t keep up/would need to be modded for higher output ... the balance / av most likely would not be up to par either ... I choose a larger Saw for longer bars as they are engineered that way ... also that echo might end up puking it’s bearings over time

Lotta bar for a 50cc!
Yeppers ... I mod them to cut quicker with the manufacturers recommended bar lengths ... usually I get 27-30% quicker cutting over the stock Saw with the stock bar/chain - modded Saw/Modded chain I’ve gotten up to 60% quicker than an off the shelf stock Saw / stock chain ... if I need a longer bar I grab a bigger Saw :P

Holly chit. It did good . How do u mod the oiler on echo saws.?

Echo saws don't need more oil. They can easily empty a tank of oil before running out of gas, and can easily oil any practical bar meant for their size.
