Help with tree ID

Structure was monkey puzzle like, he said.

One of my former apprentices killed it and asked me what it was.

Since I couldn't answer and hate for apprentices, even former, to find out that I'm not omniscient, I passed the question on to all you smart arbos in the House.

That's a good question.

I would have said Araucaria bidwillii but in Denmark?

That link Jomo posted shows them only in the southern US states, and I haven't seen them in the cooler areas here. Bermy might know if there's any in Tasmania.

Queensland tree really, and it gets hot up there but there's a lot in Sydney. Or was.

The tree is, or rather was, in the North end of Zealand, the Island where I live.
I've never encountered one in Denmark before.
